The Department of Chemistry was established in 2011. The Chemistry department offers core courses in Chemistry for undergraduate students and it has close cooperation with disciplines such as Physics, Mathematics, Biotechnology, Microbiology etc. The department offers theory and laboratory core courses covering basic concepts in various sub-disciplines of Chemistry (Physical, Inorganic and organic).
Our faculty members are actively engaged to their teaching assignments. Very spacious and well equipped independent two Chemistry labs are available. The chemistry labs have good instrumental facilities such as Ph meter, Refractometer, Double still water purifier, Colorimeter, Conductometer etc. ICT based teaching with smart class room is also available.
Co-curricular activities are an integral part of curriculum which provides educational activities to the students and thereby help in broadening their experiences. National Science fest is celebrated on the 28th February on each year in our college to mark the discovery of the Raman effect by Indian physicist Sir C.V. Raman on 28 February 1928. In all the events we try to ensure maximum participation of the students.
The Department of Chemistry hosts many different seminars throughout the year, in multiple different areas of research.
The primary purpose of an educational tour or a field tour is to educate students and provide them with a chance to learn from a new set of experiences in an informal setting. Tours also allows students to develop close bonds with teachers and classmates. Various educational tours are arranged for students in every year.
